Frequently Asked Questions

It’s completely natural to have questions before starting therapy. Below are some of the most common ones people ask. If your question isn’t answered here, please don’t hesitate to get in touch — I’ll be happy to help.

FAQ's

What happens in the first session?

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and talk about what’s brought you to seeking help. We’ll explore what you’d like to work on, what you hope to gain, and how we might approach this together. It’s also a chance for you to see how it feels to work with me and to ask any questions before deciding whether to continue.

What if I’m not sure therapy is right for me?

That’s completely okay. I offer a free initial consultation so you can ask questions, get a feel for how I work, and decide if it feels right for you. There’s no pressure or commitment — just an opportunity to explore whether this support could be helpful.

How many sessions will I need?

Every person’s journey is different. Some people find a few sessions helpful for specific issues, while others choose longer-term therapy to explore deeper patterns or experiences. We’ll review progress regularly and work at a pace that feels right for you.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes. I offer both in-person sessions in Haverhill, Suffolk, and online sessions via a secure, confidential video platform. You can choose whichever format feels most comfortable or accessible for you.

What is your fee and how do I pay?

Fees are £75 for individual sessions and £100 for couples sessions. Payment is usually made by bank transfer before or on the day of the session.

Is what I say confidential?

Yes. Everything you share in our session is treated with the utmost confidentiality. There are a few legal and ethical exceptions — for example, if I believe there is a risk of serious harm to yourself or someone else — but I will always discuss this with you wherever possible.
