Hello

With over 20 years’ experience in the field of psychology, I’ve dedicated my career to supporting people through change and challenge. My work has always focused on understanding human behaviour and helping individuals create meaningful, lasting change in their lives.

I offer a calm, compassionate space for you to explore whatever feels difficult right now. Whether that’s navigating a period of uncertainty, coping with stress or anxiety, or working through painful experiences from the past.

I have experience supporting people who have lived through a wide range of challenges, including trauma, loss, relationship difficulties, and experiences of abuse, including sexual abuse. My approach is trauma-informed, gentle, and collaborative, helping you to feel safe, understood, and empowered as you make sense of your experiences and move toward healing and growth.

I believe that even in life’s darkest moments, light and hope can emerge and that with the right support, change is always possible.

Reading To Your Dog

Individual

I offer one-to-one sessions for adults who are seeking support with a range of emotional and life challenges. You may be feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed, or stuck, or you may be struggling with experiences from the past that continue to affect you now.

Together, we’ll work at a pace that feels right for you — exploring patterns, emotions, and experiences to help you make sense of what’s happening and move toward the change or clarity you’re looking for.

I have particular experience supporting people with:

  • Past trauma and abuse, including sexual abuse

  • Anxiety, stress, and low mood

  • Relationship or family difficulties

  • Loss, grief, or life transitions

  • Self-esteem and confidence

  • Behavioural change and personal growth

Sessions are collaborative, supportive, and tailored to your individual needs — helping you to feel heard, understood, and empowered.

Embracing on a Bench

Couples

Relationships can bring both connection and challenge. At times, communication breaks down, trust is shaken, or you may find yourselves stuck in repeating patterns that cause distress.

Couples therapy offers a calm, supportive space to explore what’s happening between you, improve understanding, and find new ways to relate to each other.

I work with couples to:

  • Strengthen communication and rebuild trust

  • Navigate conflict and difference

  • Reconnect emotionally and deepen understanding

  • Manage change, separation, or life transitions compassionately

My approach is non-judgemental and balanced, supporting each partner to feel heard while focusing on creating insight and practical steps toward healthier patterns and renewed connection.

Initial Consultation

I offer a free initial consultation — a short, informal conversation to help us decide whether working together feels like the right fit. This is a chance for you to share what’s bringing you to therapy, ask any questions, and get a sense of how I work. It’s important that you feel confident in me and that I’m the right person to support you with what you’re experiencing.

Face to face Sessions

Face-to-face sessions take place in a small private room in Haverhill. Suffolk. Sessions usually last around 50 minutes and take place weekly, though this can be adjusted depending on your needs and circumstances.

Online Sessions

Online sessions can be arranged via Zoom or Microsoft Teams. They offer flexibility and accessibility if face-to-face sessions aren’t possible or convenient. Online sessions work in exactly the same way as in-person sessions — providing a safe, confidential space for support and reflection from the comfort of your own environment.

Fees

Fees are £75 for individual sessions and £100 for couples sessions

TESTIMONIALS

I just wanted to say thank you for everything. You made the process of working through one of the most difficult times of my life so much easier and I learnt so much from you. I now understand my own behaviour and why I have done some of the things in my past that I'm not proud of. I'm 100% confident I wont fall into those negative patterns again now I have insight and the tools to support me.

Denis, Individual Support

Karen supported my partner and I at a time that was very sensitive and upsetting one for our entire family. We were unsure as to what or who we were facing.

However Karen showed herself to be a consummate professional. She conducted herself in a manner that was respectful to both my partner and I. She was unbiased and non judgemental in her approach and although some of the conversations were difficult, we always felt we were in a safe space.

Reliving and recognising a traumatic situation of such sensitivity is not easy to share with anyone but Karen was someone with whom my partner and I built trust with quite quickly.

I would highly recommend her for the work that she does, her treatment of people and as a person. She has integrity, respect and understanding.
